Square

Square has EVOLVED and is one of my personal favorites. It's no longer the company with the little white square for swiping cards. They are a major tech/finance service provider that people use everyday to grow their business. You can collect payments professionally online and in person using the latest payment tech. Apple Pay, Google Pay and Card on File automation is offered out of the box. Square has payroll and contractors features, advanced reporting and files the important state and federal documents to keep you in compliance automatically. There are marketing tools, capital at your expense if you apply for their loans, manage your teams and their time sheets all in one ecosystem. They are not considered full service YET, as they do not offer expense and accounting features for your entire business. What they do offer is done extremely well.

Fresh Books

Fresh Books is another all in one solution that makes accepting online payments easy. They offer project based pricing and have a mobile app that allows you to take your money management anywhere. They have time management features, but are limited in payroll capabilities. They are very well known for their expense tracking and reporting software. They are not my personal favorite, but have the market share to back up they are a good fit for some customers.

QuickBooks

And then there is quickbooks who does all the things that matter most well. They have been in the industry longer than the other contenders above which is both good and bad. They are a little bit set in their ways. It's not the easiest to use, but is robust and many people really enjoy their service and even connect other services like Square with it to leverage advantages of both platforms. I'm personally not impressed and think they could learn from new contenders. It is a choice that you would not regret, but just like any other options it has it's pros and cons. Pros are custom expense reporting and management. It also offers online payments, and payroll services for employees and contractors.
